PHAROS CONFERENCE CRUISE STRONGLY RECOMMENDS ALL GUESTS TRAVEL WITH A VALID PASSPORT

Having a valid passport will help to expedite your debarkation experience as delays may occur upon return to the United States for those without one. Additionally, this will enable guests to fly from the United States to meet their ship at a foreign port should they miss their scheduled port of embarkation and allow guests who must disembark the ship before their cruise ends due to an emergency to fly back to the United States without significant delays and complications.

Required Cruise Travel Documents

Below are the travel document requirements required by the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI) which apply to cruise travel. Please note that this information could be updated at any time without notice. 

Names on Travel Documentation

The name on your cruise reservation/ticket MUST match the name on your passport (or birth certificate and government-issued photo I.D., see below).

U.S. Citizens

All U.S. Citizens aged 16 years and older taking “closed-loop” cruises – sailings which depart from and return to the same U.S. port – will be required to present a valid WHTI-compliant document – OR – proof of citizenship AND a valid government issued photo I.D.

WHTI-Compliant Documents

• U.S. Passport
• U.S. Passport Card
• State Enhanced Driver’s License *EDL is not the same thing as Real ID
• Certificate of U.S. Naturalization

Proof Of Citizenship

• An original or state certified copy of a birth certificate, issued by a government agency (state/county/city) or the Department of Health and Vital Statistics
• Certificate of U.S. Naturalization
• U.S. Consular report of your birth abroad

Guests may obtain a copy of a birth certificate by contacting the Department of Health and Vital Statistics at: vitalchek.com. Baptismal papers and hospital issued certificates of birth are not acceptable. Voter registration cards and Social Security cards are also not considered proof of citizenship. 

Government Issued Photo ID’s

• Real ID Driver’s License or ID Card
• State Enhanced Driver’s License
• Trusted Traveler Program Card Government-issued (NEXUS/SENTRI/FAST)
• Government-issued identification card including a U.S. Military I.D. with photo (city/state/federal)

Children

Children under the age of 16 at the time of sailing are not required to present a Photo ID, but must present a birth certificate or other proof of citizenship. The birth certificate can be an original or certified copy.

U.S. Alien Residents

U.S. Alien Residents must contact the appropriate Consulates, U.S. Embassy and U.S. Immigration office to inquire about necessary travel documentation. The Cruise Line assumes no responsibility for advising guests of Immigration requirements. Note: The Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative does not pertain to U.S Alien Residents.

The Cruise Line recommends that all guests travel with a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the completion of travel.

Guests are required to carry a valid, unexpired, Alien Resident Card (that includes a Photo I.D.). In addition, U.S. Alien Residents must contact the appropriate Consulates, U.S. Embassy and U.S. Immigration office to inquire about necessary travel documentation. The Cruise Line nor Pharos Cruise assumes no responsibility for advising guests of Immigration requirements.

If an Alien Resident Card does not have an expiration date on the front, then it is a very old version and it is recommended that the guest applies to renew it. Filing instructions and forms are available at www.uscis.gov.

Photo I.D. Information (if not on the Alien Resident Card): A non-expired Government-Issued Photo I.D is required of all guests 16 years of age or older such as a Driver’s License, Driver’s Permit or Government issued identification card (city/state/federal). 

Non-U.S. Citizens

Non-U.S. citizens are required to carry a valid, unexpired passport and, if applicable, a valid, unexpired multiple-entry visa. Additionally, non-U.S. citizens are strongly advised to consult with the appropriate government authorities to determine any additional travel documentation that may be required. Neither the cruise line nor Pharos Cruise assumes responsibility for advising guests on immigration requirements. Guests without proper identification may be denied boarding or entry into the United States.

Visa Waiver Program (VWP)

Non-U.S citizens that are eligible to apply for admission under the Visa Waiver Program must have a valid, unexpired machine readable passport that includes specified security features (biometric identifiers). In addition, travelers are required to have an electronic travel authorization via the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA).

Canadian Citizens

Canadian citizens can present a valid passport, Enhanced Driver’s License, or Trusted Traveler Program card (NEXUS, SENTRI or FAST). Canadian children under 16 need only present a birth certificate or other proof of citizenship. The birth certificate can be original, photocopy, or certified copy.

Mexican Citizens

Mexican citizens, including children, are required to present a passport with visa, or a Border Crossing Card.

Directions & Transportation

Port Miami is easily accessible by car, train or taxi, however, most cruise lines offer shuttle service directly from Miami International Airport (see below). Upon arrival at the port, follow signs to the Terminal. You can access PortMiami using different forms of transportation such as: car, taxi or rideshare (eg. Uber or Lyft).

Parking Information

Parking is conveniently available at all cruise terminals. Designated disabled permit parking spaces are available in each garage. Spaces are also available for oversized vehicles (oversized vans, recreational vehicles and vehicles with trailers) at special rates. All facilities are patrolled by security. Oversized vehicles may only park in Lot #2, across from Cruise Terminal E.

Discounted Parking Option

We have partnered with Premier Cruise Parking, an off-site (shuttle runs every 30 minutes), secured parking company. Premier Cruise Parking offers a 40% discount on port rates. If reserving this option, we recommend dropping off those who are traveling by car with you, and all luggage, at the cruise terminal prior to parking. Be sure to allow extra time for shuttle transit when making your travel plans for the day.

The Cruise Line Shuttle

$22.99 – Miami International (MIA)
$36.99 – Fort Lauderdale (FLL)

The Cruise Line Cruise Line offers transportation between Miami International or Ft. Lauderdale International Airport to Port Miami on the day of embarkation or debarkation only. Guests may purchase transportation up to two days prior to their sail date.

To purchase The Cruise Line’s transportation service, your flight must arrive at:
• Miami International Airport – no later than 12:00pm
• Ft. Lauderdale International – no later than 11:30am

Transportation service will run hourly and will be provided as follows:
• Miami International Airport – between 10:00 AM and 12:30pm
• Ft. Lauderdale International Airport – one departure at 12:00pm

NOTE: Guests who purchase their own airfare tickets and are using The Cruise Line’s Airport Transportation are required to provide flight information via Online Check-In no later than two days prior to their cruise date. The airport is staffed based on known flight information. Once all known flights are met, the staff is released and service is no longer available.
